Nebular hypothesis argues that the solar system was formed from the gravitational collapse of a fragment of a giant molecular cloud. The cloud had a size of 20 pc, while the fragments were approximately 1 pc (a few light years). Further collapse of the fragments led to the formation of a dense core size of 0.01 to 0.1 pc (2000-20000 AU). One of these fragments in the collapse (pre-solar nebula known) would be formed what became the Solar System. The composition of this region, with a mass less than that of the Sun was about the same as that of the Sun today, hydrogen, helium and traces with lithium produced by Big Bang nucleus-synthesis, forming about 98% of its mass. The remaining 2% by weight consisted of heavier elements that were created by nucleus-synthesis in previous generations of stars. In later life of these stars were ejected into the interstellar medium elements heavier.
